Happening now.  Upwards of $86 trillion is being transferred to spouses and next generations. Women are the biggest beneficiaries. Beyond outnumbering men, women live longer. So, whether they inherit from a spouse or from an older generation, they will manage their money independently for far longer than men. By 2030, women will manage at least $30 trillion, with more on the way.

These resources will surely offer women economic security, but we’d be remiss if we stopped there.

We have the opportunity to harness some of these trillions for the greater good: To bridge yawning gaps in social safety nets, uplift and offer real hope to marginalized communities and foster greater equality through philanthropy and charitable giving.

But this historic wealth transfer could get upended, as early as next year.  That’s because Congress will have to find trillions in revenue to address major tax reform in 2025, yawning federal deficits and a looming bankruptcy of Social Security. In short, lawmakers could transform the wealth transfer to women into a trickle.

I invite you to join me for a conversation about this unprecedented transition of wealth and what’s at stake for philanthropy.

    SPEAKER:
